Airports in Israel
An airport is a site which is used by the aircrafts for their operational purposes. Generally an airport is constituted of a runway which the aircrafts use their landings and departure. It also possesses buildings like hangars, a center from which the center from which contact is maintained with the flights which are on the way to their destinations. Apart from these, An airport also has terminal buildings. Added to these, there are many other facilities that are provided to the airports. It may also be provided with an air traffic control, and fixed base operator. Apart from these, there are airport hotels where the passengers can go for enjoying the facilities of accommodation and food.

There are many airports in Israel. Both international and domestic airports are there. There are two main airports in Israel. Among the international airports in Israel, Ovda international Airport and Ben Gurion International Airport need a mention. The domestic airports in Israel are Be'er Sheva Airport, Haifa Airport, Atarot Airport, Eilat airport, Herzlia Airport, Megiddo airport, Rosh Pina Airport, K'far Sirkin Airfield, Sde Dov Airportnad Kiryat Shmona Airport. As far as the airports in Israel are concerned, the international flights take off and land at the international airports in Israel while the domestic flights land at takeoff from the domestic airports existing in Israel.

The international airport known as the Ovda International Airport is situated at the southern part of Israel. It is at a distance of sixty kilometers north from Eilat city of Israel. It is in the particular year of 1980 that the Ovda International Airport was established. It was established to serve as a military airport in the beginning. But at present a considerable number of commercial aircrafts come here at this particular international airport. Passenger flights from different places of the world land here at this airport. Many chartered flights also come here. These include Arkia Israel Airlines, Flystar , Israir Airlines, XL Airways , El Al, and many others.



Ben Gurion International Airport is also a international airport. It is also famous by its Hebrew name Natbag. Among all the airports in Israel, it is the largest. It is a busy airport with a number of flights landing at and taking off from here. In the year of 1036 , this particular airport in Israel was established.In the beginning this airport constituted of four runways. concrete runways on the outskirts of the Arab town of Lydda. It was structured for serving military aims.
